Mark Beehre is a photographer living and working in Wellington. His recently-completed Men Alone — Men Together is a major project combining documentary photography and oral history in documenting the lives of 45 gay men and recounting how their journeys have, for the moment, led them towards or away from relationship with another. Men Alone — Men Together reflects the immense diversity of the gay world. These men are our workmates and neighbours. They are gardeners and jewellers, teachers and builders, priests and fathers, each with a story to tell of remarkable determination and courage. Men Alone — Men Together will be available from the publisher from late December 2009 and from bookshops from February 2010. See http://www.steeleroberts.co.nz.

Mark has an ongoing interest in documenting the lives of gay men. He has extensive experience in environmental portraiture and is available for commissioned work including civil unions and weddings.
